Last year, I went to the Get RADICAL Women´s Conference in Washington, DC. It was my second year attending, and I wasn’t disappointed. I traveled an ocean’s distance (from Spain).

This women´s conference was done so well in ways that I could never have imagined, and this was done by a person that I have long admired. So many things about Doreen and this conference helped me to finally move myself from a place that I had been stuck in too long. I left the conference motivated, determined and convinced. I knew that I had to make changes, and make changes, I did!!!

In short, 2011 was a RADICAL YEAR for me. I even surprised myself. I just got to a point where I was kind of tired of doing and accepting the same things, same ways and getting the same unsatisfactory results.

I found the courage to consciously make changes that I knew could very well alter, and even upset, the great life that I´d built. I had the courage to face past demons, that I would come to realize weren’t demons at all. Just past “things” that I hadn´t been willing to let go of.

I´m overwhelmed with the new sense of freedom and power that I feel. The last, major obstacles have been removed. So now what? No more excuses, no more procrastination, no more FEAR. Just do it! Now, who´s with me??? ~ Tenica Simuel, Spain

I attended the 2011 Get RADICAL Women’s Conference this year and I learned so much.

When I got home to NH, I was filled with so much empowerment that I was a bit overwhelmed. I knew there was something out there that would give me purpose and satisfy my thirst for a rewarding life. About a couple weeks after the conference, I was on Facebook and I noticed that the ASPCA was launching it’s first year of their endurance and half-marathon training program called “Team ASPCA”. My gut told me that I had to do it. So I signed up.

I’ve never ran over 1.5 miles in my life. By being a part of Team ASPCA, I would be training for a half-marathon while raising funds for the ASPCA. The ASPCA is a charity I hold close to my heart so it felt right to do this. Never in my life did I think I would be capable of running a half marathon. But I trucked through each week of my 16-week training program and before I knew it, I was running 11 miles in my last few weeks!! I definitely cried when I finished that because I totally underestimated my capabilities.

If I can run 11 miles, I can run a half-marathon and do anything else I put my mind to. Well… when I finally ran my race – I rocked it! I finished 4 minutes sooner than my goal and the pride and emotions afterward were so rewarding. I want to thank you and all the speakers at the conference for all the motivation. I had been wanting to see Rhonda Britten live for many years. I was signing up for one of her seminars when I found this conference. We all have different stories, come from different backgrounds, and face our own struggles. But, we’ve been able to encourage each other and learn from each other. I’m so thankful to you, Doreen.
